Finance Manager – Falkirk – Office Based
We are working with an established, private equity-backed construction business headquartered in Falkirk that is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to support its Head of Finance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable, hands-on finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment where accurate financial reporting and meeting deadlines are critical.
As a private equity-backed business, there is a strong emphasis on the quality, accuracy and timeliness of financial information. The successful candidate will play an important role in coordinating the month-end process, preparing monthly management accounts and producing the reporting required to support the Head of Finance.
Working closely with the Head of Finance and supported by an established team of Finance Analysts, you will help ensure that monthly financial information is accurate, clearly presented and delivered within demanding reporting deadlines.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and supporting the monthly management accounts and month-end reporting process.
- Preparing accurate and timely financial reports for review by the Head of Finance.
- Ensuring financial information is robust, reconciled and ready for monthly management and investor reporting.
- Working closely with the finance team to collate, review and validate financial data.
- Investigating variances, identifying inconsistencies and ensuring the integrity of reported figures.
- Supporting improvements in financial reporting processes, systems and overall reporting efficiency.
About you
We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced finance professionals who have a strong track record of delivering accurate management accounts and financial reporting within commercially demanding environments.
You will ideally bring:
- Strong practical experience in management accounting, month-end reporting and financial controls.
- The ability to work accurately and efficiently to tight reporting deadlines.
- Experience working within a business with demanding financial reporting requirements, ideally private equity-backed.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial reporting systems.
- Experience using NetSuite would be a distinct advantage.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the confidence to work closely with senior finance stakeholders.
Experience is more important than formal qualifications. While an accounting qualification would be welcome, we are equally interested in speaking with candidates who have developed strong technical and reporting expertise through practical experience.
This role does not carry direct line management responsibility. Instead, the focus is on taking ownership of reporting deliverables and working collaboratively with an established finance team and the Head of Finance.
Why consider this opportunity?
This is an opportunity to join a well-established construction business operating within a private equity-backed environment, where the finance function has an important role in providing timely, reliable financial information.
It will particularly appeal to someone who enjoys the technical and operational aspects of finance, takes pride in producing high-quality reporting and wants to work closely with senior finance leadership without the requirement to manage a team.
