About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Client Manager to join a growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Edinburgh.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional who enjoys working closely with clients and is looking to develop their career within a modern, technology-focused practice.
You will work with a varied portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for bookkeeping, VAT and client support while helping to improve processes and introduce efficiencies across the business.
Key Responsibilities
As Client Manager, you will:
- Manage bookkeeping and prepare VAT returns for a varied portfolio of clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records using cloud-based accounting software.
- Use Xero and integrated applications to deliver efficient client services.
- Carry out quality control checks on bookkeeping and VAT work.
- Review VAT coding and allocations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Develop your knowledge of VAT requirements across a range of industries.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, responding to queries promptly and professionally.
- Support the onboarding of new clients and provide assistance with Xero training where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and efficiencies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a high-quality client experience.
- Manage your workload effectively and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in bookkeeping, VAT returns and client support.
- Ideally experienced within an accountancy practice or client-focused environment.
- Confident using cloud accounting software, particularly Xero.
- Experience with FreeAgent or QuickBooks would be advantageous.
- Friendly, approachable and confident when dealing with clients.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
- A strong communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
- Interested in technology and finding more efficient ways of working.
- Keen to develop their technical knowledge and progress their career.
