We all know that great people are hard to come by and even harder to retain. But what about the individuals’ that companies manage to hire twice – boomerang hires?

These hires are important because it’s always a positive signal of company culture if someone is willing to come back. It’s hard to recruit great people, even harder to retain them and equally hard to hire them twice!

The next time you go for an interview, ask the recruiter or interviewer if they know of any employees who have left and re-joined the company….

If the interviewer looks confused by your question and can’t give any examples, then it could be a potential red flag – after all, if no one has boomeranged back after a period in the Outback – it could tell you a lot about what it’s like working there!
